Over the past year Kelly’s of Cornwall has been working with Clean Cornwall to actively reduce the amount of rubbish dumped in the Cornish countryside. This summer the Clean Cornwall Campaign is focusing all efforts on Cornish tourist hotspots - the areas most affected in the summer months.

Cornwall has five of the cleanest beaches in England, according to Keep Britain Tidy.

It has awarded its prestigious Blue Flag awards to Porthmeor (pictured), Porthminster, Polzeath, Porthtowan and Gyllyngvase.

However, two beaches - at Sennen Cove and Carbis Bay - were stripped of their flags.

Weever Fish Warning To Cornish Bathers

Bathers along Cornwall's coastline are being warned to be on the look out for the country's most poisonous fish.

Weever Fish are about 15cm long and have venomous spines along the dorsal fin.

They like shallow water and are so well camouflaged that many people do not see them until they have stepped on them.
