Pippa Marias Mini Cornish Tour In November

Introducing the new Swedish pop sensation Pippa Marias who will return to Cornwall in early November to play 3 shows in the region. Pippa Marias are no strangers to our county having visited many times in the past but only making their live debut in an extremely show stealing performance at Truro’s Wig & Pen back in July. Pippa Marias formed in London when it’s future band members moved into the same flat in Dalston in January 2010. The Gothenburg-bred electro/pop quartet kicked off by rehearsing in a Camden Town pub cellar and started making catchy and melodic tunes inspired by the beat of the London streets and pure unashamed Swedish pop. The extremely charismatic front man Henrik Nyblom fronts the band with his stand out vocals and eccentric stage presence, with Bernhard Siljedahl providing the drum beats, Robert Kling on lead guitar and Tobias Lindvall on bass. Pippa Marias have been compared to everyone from The Cure, Hot Chip, Zdar and Phoenix and offer dance pop with an added cutting edge.

With a growing fan base, the band are making headway in London and have just been voted ‘Band of the Month’ on Sweden’s Tastemaker radio channel (P3) for September, charting on radio play in the top 20 without even a record release in their home country (yet). Pippa Marias have also been featured on Best of Myspace and their lead track ‘Shut Your Mouth’ has been championed by influential Swedish DJ Pelle Moeld. This October will see them play the main stage at Londons Freeze festival alongside Mark Ronson, Pendulum, Hadouken, New Young Pony Club and I Blame Coco amongst others.
