Outdoor Screenings Season Host classic cinema at Adrenalin QuarryTags: Andrenaline Quarry, Event Cornwall, Hall for Cornwall, Pulp Fiction
The Adrenalin Quarry, Liskeard is hosting an evening of classic cinema: al-fresco style with the Outdoor Screenings Season.
Organisers Event Cornwall will be presenting Tarantino’s blockbuster Pulp Fiction on their giant inflatable screen on Saturday, June 4.
It’s part of the Outdoor Screenings Season – a series of eight outdoor cinema events at unusual and attractive locations throughout the county.
Tickets are priced at £8 or £6 for concessions, available from the Hall for Cornwall box office: www.hallforcornwall.co.uk, 01872 262466.
Claire Eason-Bassett, director at Event Cornwall, said: “We’re very excited to be working with Adrenalin Quarry and we’ve chosen some epic films to enjoy in a spectacular setting.”
The Pulp Fiction screening on June 4 will be followed by the feature Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe, on Saturday, August 27.
The 8m by 6m mobile cinema uses high quality digital projection with Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Filmgoers just have to wrap up warm and bring their own seating to enjoy the outdoor experience.
There is also chance to try out the Adrenalin Quarry’s 40 mph zip wire – the biggest in the UK at 490m long and 50m high – with special zip and film packages available through www.adrenalinquarry.co.uk.
Will Sneyd from Adrenalin Quarry said: “This is a rare opportunity to watch classic films in an incredible setting – an outdoor cinema beside a spooky quarry lake and towering cliffs.”
Outdoor Screenings Season is working with Nomad Bars, the people behind the Old Grammar School in Truro, who will be offering cinema-tastic drinks and snacks throughout the series.
Nomad Bars’ Ben Hall said: “We’ll be selling popcorn, toffee apples, bespoke cocktails, rare spirits, fine wines and world beers to add to the already magical environment of the outdoor cinema.”
