It's been 3 years since the birth of Hing Kong Ping Pong and in that time they have developed into one of the most recognisable nights on the South West dance floor scene. To show their appreciation they have only gone and got the one and only 'Stickybuds' harking all the way from Canada no less!

Stickybuds has been destroying dance floors at nightclubs and festivals in Western Canada for the last 5 years. Tyler’s magnetic stage presence and energized sets filled with genre- mashing combos make him a crowd favorite at every show. Very few speak about a DJ coming from Kelowna BC; a small Canadian city where sunshine & Breakbeats dominate with youthful vibrancy. Stickybuds had his start performing to frenzied crowds of local music lovers at “Higher Ground” club nights wherehe earned a residency in his first year of DJing. His fans crave Broken Beat rhythms as much as he does and they find him playing his own blend of mashed-up Funk, Reggae, Wookie Shuff le, Whale Step, Breaks, Drum N’ Bass, & Glitch Hop.

He is a triple threat DJ with tight mixing, slick turntabilism, and an arsenal of killer tunes including his own stellar productions. Tyler has performed alongside his favorite world-class DJs, has competed in Canadian DMC finals in Ottawa in 2006, and he returned to the Shambhala Music Festival (www.shambhalamusicfestival.com) in 2009 for his fifth consecutive annual performanceat The Fractal Forest known for its legendary festival vibes. As “Stickypod Connection”, Tyler teamed up with Kelowna-based partner- in-crime JPod (The Beat Chef) for a 2-man funk jam mashing a broad range of music with acapellas in a technically precise manner. They challenge the world’s best with their skill, selection, and “phatness.”

On the production front, Tyler is well-respected by his peers and becoming a staple in the Canadian Electronic Music scene. His tracks are reaching a global audience and receiving play from the likes of A Skillz and others. Good Groove’s 10th EP and Baffin Island Beat Brigade’s 4th EP (both containing Stickybuds tracks) hit number 1 on Juno’s Breakbeat charts shortly after their release dates. He has done remix work with Featurecast, Fort Knox Five, and future collaborations are just as impressive. 2009 saw Tyler branch out playing 11 dates in Brazil, for large crowds at Toronto’s long-time running Breaks weekly “Make It Funky,” a super-funk throwdown in New Orleans, and a ton of shows all across Canada. He is passionate about music & live performance; he works harder than most and is determined to take his career to the next level.
