The Goonies to be shown at Swanpool Drive In Movies

After two weeks of public voting through Atlantic FM, cult classic The Goonies has been announced as the film to be shown on the second night of Drive In Movies at Swanpool Beach on Saturday 13 August.

Hundreds of people cast their vote online and The Goonies won by more than 50 percent.  The Goonies will be shown on the second night of Drive In Movies.  The first film to be shown, on Friday 12 August will be the original Italian Job, released in 1969, starring Michael Caine

Both films are expected to draw in the crowns with mini enthusiasts encouraged to come along in force for the Friday night film.

In the true style of drive in movies the film will be shown on a big screen at the end of the car park as it starts to get dark.  As cars arrive they will be given a radio frequency to tune their radios into so that he sound from the film plays out through their car stereo.  Even if the Cornish summer weather isn’t on side, people will still be able to enjoy the films from the warmth comfort of their cars.

Tickets for the Swanpool Drive In Movies are available to buy online at www.swanpoolbeach.co.uk  and are priced at just £25 per vehicle.  Cars, campers and minibuses are all welcome and the ticket price is the same no matter what the size of the vehicle or number of people.  Swanpool Beach car park can accommodate up to 250 cars for each movie.

Swanpool Beach Cafe will be open for food and drink during the evening until the start of the films at around 9.00pm.  There will also be a selection of tasty treats available from other catering stalls on both nights, giving people plenty of choice when it comes to pre-film snacks.

People will be able to arrive and get their car park position from 6pm.  From 7pm on both nights the magical and captivating Swamp Circus will be performing their rare and exciting blend of contemporary circus theatre in the open air by the beach.
