After an absence of nine years, top class cricket returns to Cornwall. For two days in 2012, Truro Cricket Club, will host a celebration of cricket; Two high-profile professional matches and a star studded sporting dinner.

A large number of big name players such as Charlotte Edwards will be there, along with a host of family activities and events.

Cricket has always been popular in Cornwall. The county team competes in the Minor Counties Championship, there are numerous Club leagues and we have had top players such as Charlie Shreck, Carl Gazzard and Tony Penberthy progressing to professional county level.

The Cornish Cricket Festival will provide inspiration to many more youngsters in the county to take up and enjoy the great game. With more youngsters participating, we hope more will progress to professional county level and thus providing a long term aim of having a Cornish person representing the full England team.
