It was just 2 and a half years ago in early 2009 that after having worked in salons both in Lincolnshire and in Penzance, local hair stylist Kelly Anza Smart, then just 22, decided to take the step into the world of business and start her own salon.

Coming up this summer is the biggest summer festival event to happen in Penzance yet, The Jubilee Sessions.

The nights are drawing in, the clocks have changed and we’re swapping salads for soups.

Since Kelly and Brydie booked their tickets to the Reading Festival this year, all they seem to be able to talk about is what to pack,  how they’re gonna do their hair and how much make-up they reckon they’ll be able to carry – and let’s face it, for the high maintenance girl, living in a tent for 5 days with no access to shower
