Party In The Park On Bank Holiday Sunday
Tags: Ipony, Michael Eavis, My Cornwall TV, PanicStruck, Party In The Park, TrereifeParty in the Park this Bank Holiday Sunday celebrates it’s second event after last year’s 2009 successful launch at Trereife Park. The event is now set to become a firm fixture in Cornwall’s summer music scene calendar.
The idyllic grounds of Trereife Park make a unique setting for this music event with it’s Queen Anne manor as a backdrop and extensive parkland to roam. Party in the Park has one simple formula which is to provide a Cornwall audience with an annual festival showcasing the best local acts, all under one roof.
This year Party in the Park is very proud to welcome Michael Eavis, the organiser of Glastonbury Festival, to the event. Michael Eavis will be introducing several of the bands throughout the day and will sure to be reminiscing the days when his Festival was in it’s infancy and contained in one small field !
All musical tastes are being catered for with indie rockers, San Pablo, the inimitable ipony, reggae grooves of Kernow Vibration, The Surgeons, Broken, The Panicstruck and the excellent melodic sounds of Gregor and the Martians. The event will also stage the winners from the under 19’s and under 16’s Lafowda Battle of the bands, Blind Belief and Shade of Red. As well as this a further band, yet to be announced, will be performing as the winner of the very well supported Studio Bar Battle of the Bands competition.
In addition to the main stage entertainment, the audience will be treated to a sensational selection of singer songwriters in The Studio Bar Acoustic Tent, such as Petite Debauche, Richard Laity and Louella Jade Eke. Bring your own picnic or enjoy some great food from the barbecue and of course if refreshments are required the Trereife Bar Tenders will be on hand to serve you a beer or two from the bar.
All throughout the day the bands and shots of the audience will be captured on film by the MY Cornwall TV crew to be featured on their new TV web channel K Music.
The event kicks off at 2pm and runs through to Midnight. Take an easy stroll from Penzance town centre or catch a FREE shuttle bus which will be running all day from The Greenmarket, opposite the Penzance HSBC bank.
An after show party is being planned at the Studio Bar, don't forget to call in at the Studio bar afterwards and show your PitP wrist band for your party goers reward!
So if you want to see the best local acts under one roof and have a chance to appear on MY Cornwall TV, then get yourself down to Party in the Park.
Trereife Park is situated ½ mile west of Penzance on the A30 Lands End road. Entry is £7 and FREE for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult. More info call 01736 350984.

It is a shame not to mention Gary and the Minefield who have played around 20 gigs this summer and have gained a growing reputation as a great new band and all from the Penzance area! These boys are young and writing their own material, they played Port Eliot TwentyFive stage, twice, and are playing the September Festival as winners of the St Ives Battle of the Bands. Let's give them some local support.
