Gourmet Guide; Definitive Guide To Eating Out in Truro
Tags: Food, GourmetGuide, TruroA definitive guide book detailing the fantastic array of Truro’s food and drink establishments will be hitting the shelves this week.
The Gourmet Guide was so successful following its launch last year that it has been republished and updated with more than 110 listings.
The free guide provides details of every restaurant, bar, café, takeaway and food retailer in Truro city centre, including location, opening times, contact details and a brief summary of what the business offers.
This year it also features a new shopping guide, with a kitchen essentials section.
The guide has been put together by the city’s Business Improvement District (BID) Totally Truro.
BID Manager, Neil Scott, said: “The Gourmet Guide highlights the fantastic range and variety of places to eat and drink in Truro.”
“All of the food and drink related businesses within the BID area have been included in this fantastic free guide.”
There are 10,000 copies of the Gourmet Guide being printed and they can be found in restaurants, bars, pubs, cafés, the Tourist Information Centre and other tourist outlets throughout the city.
Totally Truro has also included an events guide, listing many of the exciting festivals and activities taking place over the year.
The newly opened Lavender’s Delicatessen is appearing in the booklet for the first time and owner Andrew Lavender explained why he’s pleased to be part of the publication.
“The reputation of the guide has really grown over the last 12 months and as a new business to Truro it’s great that I can be included.
“I’m confident it will encourage more visitors to come and try our delicious range cheeses, pies, cakes and sandwiches,” he said.
The Gourmet Guide is also available to download in a PDF format from Totally Truro’s website www.enjoytruro.co.uk or call Totally Truro on 01872 273999 for a copy.

We have been delighted with the initial responses to the new Gourmet Truro guide – a clear indication that this is a much needed publication for Truro.
Please note that as stated in the above article, the Gourmet Guide has been developed and funded through Truro’s Business Improvement District (BID) and is a comprehensive listing of all the food and drink related businesses in the defined BID area.
Of course, there is no doubting that there are several more fine places to eat and drink that are on the edges of the city centre but it is outside the scope of this publication to include them.

As Landlady of the City Inn, I am rather surprised and very upset that you have not even bothered to mention us. We have been trading for one year now, and I have even been in contact with Neil Scott,so you should be aware of us.
We are probably the best pub in Truro for real ales, and our food is good pub food, with special nights such as steak night, fish nights (which incidentally, sell out!)and a superb Sunday Carvery.
So when you claim that you have 'every restaurant, bar, cafe....' then this is false. Your researchers have obviously been very lax in their task, and I would like to know what you intend to do to put this right.
Yours,
one very upset and disgruntled Truro Business Owner
